Creating Community in Key West, Florida

Rockford is more than a construction company, a real estate developer, or a property management firm. In all that we do, we strive to do it better, to proactively provide and deliver more, and above all, to build community.

As we recently celebrated the ribbon cutting for the Poinciana Gardens Senior Living project, we’re reflecting on what community looks like in Key West, Florida. Owned by the local Housing Authority, the new three-story facility sits on two acres within the greater Poinciana Plaza with 108 total residential units, 48 licensed assisted living units, and 60 supported independent living units.

All units are affordable, with rents based on the residents’ ability to pay. All residents receive full meal service, housekeeping, laundry and social programs. Assisted living services will be provided to those residents requiring assistance with activities of daily living. Amenities include a large gathering/living room, two dining rooms, arts and crafts room, physical therapy room, multi-purpose room, meditation terrace, landscaped courtyard, community garden and wrap-around lanai.

This project represents a partnership between the Housing Authority of City of Key West, Key West Senior Development, LLC, American House Senior Living, and Rockford Construction to provide services that have long been needed in this community.
