Originally an empty, unutilized space, the Kalexsyn West Lab is now an ISO-008 certified clean room providing chemistry services to the global pharmaceutical industry. The lab features clean room wall and ceiling panels, epoxy electrostatic resistant flooring, and state-of-the-art pharmaceutical equipment. Installing equipment such as chemical reactors, modular systems and laboratory reactors required considerable coordination between MEP trades and equipment vendors to install proper utilities. Working within an occupied, highly sensitive space presented several challenges. Avoiding disruption to ongoing activities, the project team worked closely with the owner to coordinate critical shutdowns and tie-ins to existing lab space. All systems were isolated to protect the facility from dirt and debris.
