In 1998, The Potter’s House opened the doors of its high school, which previously served as the district’s elementary school. Rockford completely renovated the existing 32,000 sq. ft. school and constructed a new 24,000 sq. ft. addition to allow room for the school to continue growing. The renovation transformed the existing space into a 21st-century learning environment. The addition provided a new front office, commons area, art room, flexible classrooms, regulation-sized gymnasium, locker rooms and a mezzanine with a weight room.
Rockford’s team successfully navigated the tight site location, situated between both residential and commercial properties, and the renovation was completed in a short time frame over the summer to ensure there would be no interruption to operations during the school year.
